Remember how I wanted to watch the film sooooo badly- first- because I followed the story in komiks before it became a movie. Second- because I was a big fan of then-newcomer Richard Gomez (what was i thinking??). We were only 11 years old that time, remember? I asked permission from my mom if I could come home late (like 6pm) because I wanted to watch the betamax copy (how 80's!) of Blusang Itim. But things got wild- the betamax player near the plaza didn't function and we were desperate that we ended up in Banga- a good 11 kilometers away from home (going that far was such a big sin during those times because our house was just a few steps away from school). I went home at 8:30pm and i was punished big time. But despite the Japanese-torture-type of punishment, I slept with a smile on my face because I was able to watch the hottest film of that year.
